The Field Marshall Series II replaced the Series I in 1947.  A larger clutch, better brakes, wider rear tyres and a more comfortable seat were all improvements over the Series I.  There were two versions of the Field Marshall Series II Tractor, the Mark One which had a top speed of 6 m.p.h. was designed for farm use, and the Mark Two which was fitted more efficient brakes with had a top speed of 9 m.p.h. designed for use by contractors.  It was claimed in that the Field Marshall would 'run for one-sixth of the running cost of petrol tractor and plough one acre an hour on one gallon of diesel fuel.
