Fordson Major Model E27N Perkins P6 Diesel Tractor 1950

During 1948 the Fordson Major Model E27N Tractor was offered with the option of a 45 h.p. Perkins P6 diesel engine.  Hydraulic lift was optional with a choice of either a twin-lever Varley system with separate control for external services or a single lever Smith unit.  Both systems were self-contained bolt-on units driven by a shaft from the tractor gearbox.  A large range of approved implements were available for the E27N.  From the Ford Motor Companies factory in Warwickshire, the Elite two and three furrow trailed ploughs, cultivators and ridgers.  Other approved equipment was a range of tillage implements from Ransomes, a mid-mounted tool bar from the Martin Cultivator Co., Robot vegetable planters, Allman powder dusters, Compton Loaders, Dening saw benches and Bamford mowers.
